We do not spread across brands. Everything we carry, everything we have read and everything we have taken apart is Sub-Zero refrigeration.
- Built-in refrigeration — The full-height built-in units that sit flush with the cabinetry — warm boxes, running fans, frost, water on the floor, doors that stopped sealing.
- Integrated columns — Single-purpose refrigerator, freezer and wine columns that hide completely behind cabinet panels — one box warm, one still cold, and no visible grille to check.
- Undercounter and drawers — Refrigerator drawers, beverage centres and undercounter freezers built into islands, butler's pantries and lanai kitchens — small boxes in tight, hot cabinets.
- Wine storage — Wine units drift before they fail. Uneven zones, a glass door that sweats through August, a fan that runs and runs, and racks that no longer sit true.
- Ice makers — Standalone ice machines and the ice maker inside a built-in freezer — no ice at all, a bin that never fills, cubes that come out hollow, or water where it should not be.

What this county does to a built-in
Northeast Florida runs something in the order of sixty-eight thunderstorm days a year, and the region has sat through multi-day outages after Matthew in 2016, Irma in 2017 and Helene in 2024. Refrigeration does not always fail during the event. A control board that took a surge, or a compressor that was asked to restart against a hot system, can run on for weeks and then quit, which is why we ask what the power did recently even when the call comes long afterwards.
Humidity is the slower load. A door gasket that has taken a set lets warm, wet air into the box, and the first sign is almost never a temperature complaint — it is frost returning on the freezer's back wall, or condensation on the cabinet face around the door.
Then the ordinary things, which are the majority of our work: a condenser packed with dust and pet hair behind the grille, an evaporator fan that has become audible from the next room, a drain line that has closed up and put water under the crisper drawers. None of those needs a new appliance.

The seal along the hinge side had gone hard and the frame was sweating in the humidity. New gasket, closer adjusted, and the condensation that had been marking the cabinetry has stopped.
